Alpine Type R sub in centre build

Haary x draco
Hi guys

Sorry for the long absence. I’ve been busy running some stuff and haven really been posting new stuff, BUT I’ve been collecting new stuff just for you guys.

Anyway, to start today. I have a very simple install.

This is my friend’s car. His personal car is a Mitsubishi EVO 10, supped up and all for performance, but since he became a daddy last yr, he got this MPV to move his family around.

It’s a Honda stepwagon. This friend has a small collection of audio equipment. So he just took out his old PPI art series amp to drive his dynaudio front stage.

Now he wanted a little bass. Since his car didn’t come with any centre console or centre armrest, the centre area was the perfect position for a sub.

His choice of woofer, a 10” Alpine type R, also known as Type ARHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGG .. ( some of u might understand this, haha)

Ok enough chit chat, here are the pics for u guys

The sub box

the car dash

the tweeter

the tweeter holder

Friend was actually thinking of going 3 way, but his HU lacked the Xover capabilities and also he didn’t have the dynaudio passive Xover, so well, the mid ranges have to wait

how the tweeter is mounted

back to the box

after some sanding and putty

now to test it out !

the car

test fitting

now all wrapped up and ready to go!

now for some fun

the only CD we had on our hands ( I was too lazy to go get my other bass tracks) was a Michael Jackson CD, so well, but it still pounded pretty well!

Anyway, first up, a close up of the sub box

now for some songs

and well, just how it sounds like in the car

that’s all for today folks

Cheers!
